Wow, it's been a while!

Well hello everyone! Summer is upon us and my summer has been pretty awesome so far. My holiday weekend was great I saw Jersey Boys and Belle. Jersey Boys was amazing, the music was phenomenal and getting to know the story behind one of the greatest groups was really interesting. I capped off my weekend by attending the Super Scooper Ice Cream Festival here in Philly. $7 and all you can eat ice cream and water ice it really doesn't get much better than that :) Here are some pictures from my weekend.

Just doing a little editing to the Expendables 3 cast :)

Not a fan of Jason Statham lol

I've loved The Rock since I was about 8 years old ;)

For The First Time In Forever

So for all the Frozen fans out there you will completely understand the title of this post, lol. I am beyond obsessed with this movie, I have the movie and the soundtrack and I have them both on repeat. The movie just resonates with me on so many levels, I love everything about it. The characters, the music, the costumes, the story, EVERYTHING lol. In other non-Frozen related news, in the past week I have had a teaching conference, a final paper due, and jury duty. Not the easiest few days but I got through them thankfully. I picked up my gym membership on Saturday, but I haven't gone since I've picked it up lol. I do plan on going though, I was just so tired today that I could barely keep my eyes open. Friday I got another tattoo :)
This is Bilbo's sword Sting, from the Hobbit. (For all my Tolkien nerds out there lol).

So here are a few things that have inspired me or made me smile this week, I hope you enjoy, oh and happy hump day :)

Elsa and Anna :)

Makes sense lol

Perfectly describes me

Haha, too funny

On repeat :)

Plans

I'm sure that most of us make plans on a daily basis, I know I do. I usually plan what I'm going to wear, what time I will leave for work, what I'm going to take for lunch, etc. And typically I find that all of those plans go straight out the window when I wake up in the morning. I find that the outfit I picked out doesn't look like I thought it would, I am running late, and I forgot my lunch and/or snack; again. So when my plans don't work out I try not to get too upset because better things usually happen anyway. Yesterday I planned on having a picnic with my sister, and well we didn't end up having a picnic. We did end up going shopping, eating, and laughing all day so I would say the day was a win! I have been feeling a little down in the dumps lately and I can't seem to figure out why. So I am trying to be more upbeat and less of a Debbie Downer, even if I don't feel happy I'm going to fake it til I make it, lol. I am going to try and spend more time outdoors and more time enjoying life, and less time worrying about things that I have no control over. Also, Happy Cinco De Mayo! I am sad to see this lovely weekend come to an end, and although I am not looking forward to work tomorrow I will try to cheer myself up with a movie. Maybe I will watch Singing In The Rain again ;)

Seriously, how perfect is this movie?

So delicious! Thank you Target, lol.

This is one of the reasons that do not like to take a lot of money with me when I go to Target. Candyland Band-Aids!

Viva Las Vegas!

Today Ann-Margret turns 71 and I wish that I had half of her career and all of her looks.  I first fell in love with Ann-Margret in Viva Las Vegas.  To me she was Elvis' true match in singing and dancing and they made a gorgeous couple.  Happy Birthday Ann-Margret here's to many more and thank you for your contribution to my life.  You are a true beauty as well as a remarkable talent, young people today can really learn a thing or two about grace and beauty from stars like you.

Giant!

Just watched Giant starring Elizabeth Taylor and Rock Hudson as well as James Dean.  It was amazing!  It was over three hours but well worth the time because I literally fell in love with the movie.  We really do not have actors or movies like this one anymore and my heart is literally sad because of it.  I tend to fall in love with most classic movies and this is definitely a classic, I would recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it and if you have seen it, watch it again :)  The whole cast was beautiful from the stubborn Jordan Benedict to the drunk but charming Jett Rink.  Even as the characters aged they were all more beautiful than I could ever hope to be.  It really was a delight.

What A Man...

On today's date in 1916 one of the greatest actors to ever grace the silver screen was born.  Eldred Gregory Peck is known for being a part of two American classics; Moby Dick and To Kill A Mockingbird.  But most people do not know that he was an activist and fought for civil rights as well as gay rights.  He was a man who was born before his time, we could really use someone like him today with all that is going on in our world.  I fell in love with Mr. Peck the first time I watched To Kill A Mockingbird.  I was in 9th grade and my English teacher allowed us to watch the movie to compare it to the novel which we were reading in class at the time.  All of my friends were making fun of the movie because it is in black and white and calling it boring, but I was completely mesmerized by Atticus Finch.  All I could think of was here was a father who was doing all he could to teach his children right from wrong, even if others did not agree with his ideas.  Gregory Peck was in my opinion very much like Atticus Finch, he stood up for what he believed in no matter what others thought.  We can all learn something from his way of thinking, we need to stand up for what we believe in and support causes that mean something to us.  I will try to carry these learned lessons with me throughout my life and hope that others do so as well.  Happy Birthday Gregory Peck and thank you!

Finally!

So I finally saw Breaking Dawn Part 1 yesterday!  It sure took me long enough, but it was worth the wait.  I absolutely adored it, everything about it.  In other news I sent out my get well card to Joey, the brave young man I mentioned in my previous post.  I decorated it with a winter theme, and forgot to take a picture of it before I mailed it out.  I can't wait for Christmas, but what else is new, lol.  I am also in the process of making a Christmas sweater, and I will definitely post a picture of that for everyone to get a good laugh. =)
